TO.U.BU front counter “TO.U.BU”
With the renewal of the lobby, we have asked Japanese calligrapher Rieko Kawabe to write the artwork for the front counter.
The design motif is "Jindai moji".
Among the Jindai moji, it is also called a dragon character, which is also used as a talisman and amulet all over the country,
and the character itself is an energy body.
The dragon character is written as "TO.U.BU".
Rieko Kawabe
Artist, Japanese calligrapher
Ms. Kawabe graduated from Showa Women's University, Department of Japanese Literature.
She started writing at the age of three, and from an early age she studied traditional Japanese performing arts in general.
In 1995, based on the concept that "the essence of Japanese beauty lies in the whole",
she established the membership club "Nippon MIYABIGOTO Club", a program to hone her sensibility in Japanese culture.
Since 2008, she has released the "KO.TO.TA.MA" series of Japanese characters before the introduction of Chinese characters, Jindai moji.
Her collectors are luxury brands such as the French Embassy, the Russian Embassy and Che'Nelle, and through her work, she is engaged in production activities that convey Japanese spiritual culture to the modern world.
She has a wide range of activities to pass on the beauty of Japan, such as obtaining a priesthood qualification at Kokugakuin University.
